IEC Code (Import –Export Code)
The following documents are required.
(1) Every individual without the Importer Export Code (IEC) number shall not export or import unless expressly exempted. On submission, an Importer / Exporter Code (IEC) number is issued to the responsible authority.
(2) The application to issue an IEC number to the authorizing authority concerned shall be submitted by the applicant's Registered / Head Office in the manner defined and followed by documentation therein prescribed.
(3) The Import Export Code No allocation shall be appropriate for any section, division / unit / factory of the applicant as indicated by the IEC number.
(4) If an IEC Code / Import Export Code No has been missing or misplaced, if an affidavit follows, a request might be required by the granting authority to issue a duplicate of an IEC number.
(5) If an IEC holder chooses not to use the allocated IEC number, it can surrender the allocated IEC number by telling the authorizing authority. The issuing authority shall promptly notify all RBI / Customs / Licensing Authorities of the inoperative status of the IEC number upon receipt of such an intimation.
(6) Where any alteration of IEC owners, licensee / actual user's name / address or constitution is entitled to import without a permit / recognized status holders, as the case may be, the license / IT numbers or all other facilities allowed by the Regulation or Handbook ceases to be able to be imported or exported, after 60 days have elapsed under their name or entail, on the date of that update.
The actual consumer has acquired the relevant amendments rendered by a qualified authority in the Industrial Licence from the Industrial Assistance Secretariat (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) or a certificate of recognition as an individual user provided by the State Government Manager of Industries, or has earned a memorandum of approval from the Secretariat for Industry. However, so that the license authority authorizing the IE code will excuse the error in charging a Rs.5000/- fine.
The following documents are required.
- Company Cancelled Cheque signed
- 1 photo of any director
- Pan scan on PDF
- Directors/partner pan copy
- Memorandum/articles of association or partnership deed certificate
